A TRAGIC LIFE
She drew a star, a bright star,
And expected it of her suitor,
But dream s never respect reality,
And she got disappointment, a rogue,
He drank himself to a stupor
She sought salvation, maybe escapism
In realms of religion and groups,
But only to add to her misery,
If only this misery knew her misery,
He struggled with acceptance,
The bitterness of underachievement,
A failed lover, a victim of circumstance
She found her way out,
Freedom beckoned from a mirage,
And she ran off to seek refuge,
A new life, a life of solitude,
If one is truly enough,
Then it wouldn’t be the loneliest,
She found lonely peace but caused his demise
